FAQ

How does the booking process work from start to finish?

Getting started is simple: reach out through an inquiry, and once we've nailed down the details, you'll sign a contract and pay your $150 retainer to lock in your date. From there, you'll fill out a short questionnaire so I can get to know you both a little better. As we get closer to your shoot date, we'll hop on a quick call to go over the details and answer any specific questions you may have. That's it — you're all set!

How many final images can we expect to receive?

For a one-hour session, you can expect 40–70 professionally edited, high-resolution images in your final gallery, captured on a mix of digital and 35mm film.

What is your rescheduling/cancellation policy?

If you need to re-schedule your shoot, you can do so any time before the date of your shoot, with another retainer fee of $100. This counts towards the total cost of your session, including the initial retainer fee.

If weather doesn't cooperate, we'll simply reschedule to the next available date at no extra cost. Your retainer carries over, so there's nothing more to pay.

We understand plans can change. If you need to cancel your session, please note that retainer fees are non-refundable. If you'd like to reschedule instead of canceling altogether, just reach out — we're happy to find a new date that works.

What's the best time of day or season for engagement photos?

Most people find that golden hour, the hour or so before sunset, offers the softest and most flattering light and is generally the best time for engagement photos. That said, I also have shot some of my favorite photos in harsher light earlier in the afternoon! The only time of day I recommend actively avoiding is close to midday, when the sun is directly overhead. We are spoiled here in SoCal with wonderful weather pretty much all year long, so don't let season be a determining factor for your session!

"Ian is a beyond talented and skilled individual who can perfectly and organically capture the essence of couples so effortlessly, it’s basically like second nature to him. My husband and I used him for both our engagement photos and wedding photos, and even had him at my bridal shower navigating among so many women but he fit right in lol! When he delivered my galleries it felt like it was Christmas"
